Our care oases focus on end-of-life care for people with severe dementia and provide them with comfort and security. Six to eight residents live together in the oasis, a spacious functional area in which they are cared for, take their meals and are treated.
Aside from beds, the oasis is furnished with seating for family members and equipped with mood lights and elements such as water columns, an aquarium, light effects and mobiles. Together with peaceful, quiet surroundings, these elements protect residents from being overwhelmed by sensory stimuli.
Our nursing staff effectively fosters the (self-)perception skills of residents with severe dementia. Kinesthetics are employed to train any remaining movement and enhance sensory stimuli using the technique of basal stimulation. Expressions of pain are recorded in a structured manner by following special procedures and addressed within the context of palliative care.
